Mine has been a significant “volunteer career” before my appointment to Council in 2018. Involved with community committees, advocating for citizens and neighborhoods and a voice for PAC associations.
A 4th generation North Vancouverite, my sons were raised in Lynn Valley and are proud of their heritage. I don't want to be the last generation of my family that can afford to live here. Among my platform issues, I define “affordable housing” as attainable housing tied to income.
I am proud to have served on a number of committees during my term:
· Finance & Audit Committee
· Property Tax Parcel Roll
· Commissioner with North Vancouver Museum & Archives Commission (MONOVA)
· Commissioner with North Vancouver Recreation & Culture
· Advisory Oversight Committee.
I support forward looking decisions and as an Accountant I am judicious in applying measurement skills – analyzing situations, active listening and taking a collaborative approach to deliver effective solutions.
I will maintain my strong committment on:·
Community Voices – I am listening·
Housing – diverse, “attainable” housing tied to income
Transportation – need innovative solutions to the gridlock and safe routes for all forms of transportation·
Infrastructure – must catch up to our growth and be maintained or replaced·
Development – expedite our communities needs, and pay for itself ·
Fiscal Sustainability – pursue cost savings, review revenue streams, municipal charges
Environmental Sustainability – enforce current regulations, protect parklands and wildlife, continue to develop, and implement climate change strategies
I can't win this race without your help.
